Setting the Timeline:

Project Kick-Off:

Application Submission:

After collecting all the necessary documents, we submitted the application to the Department of Health and Illinois on day 16. It's important to note that unlike many other states, Illinois requires the application to be mailed in, along with supporting documentation. The application itself consists of 25 pages, making it a substantial package.

Review and Approval:

The application went through a thorough review process by the Department of Health. Fortunately, our client received approval, marking an important milestone in the journey. Day 64 was a significant day as we delivered the customized set of policies and procedures for their home care company in Illinois, which was well-received.

On-Site Survey:

On day 74, an on-site survey was scheduled. However, due to the pandemic, the survey was conducted remotely via Webex, ensuring the safety of all parties involved. The Illinois Department of Health Inspector conducted the survey, and our client had a positive experience throughout the process.

License Issuance:

Finally, on day 77, the license was issued, granting our client the authorization to operate their in-home services agency in Illinois. The successful completion of this journey within the targeted timeline of 75 days showcased the dedication and efficiency of our team and the commitment of our client.

Mailed Application: Unlike many states that offer online application submission, Illinois requires a printed application to be mailed in, along with supporting documents. The comprehensive package can be extensive, so it's crucial to prepare accordingly.

 

No Nurse Requirement: In Illinois, a nurse is not required to obtain a home care license. However, certain documents and policies need to be submitted, including a complete list of services, a sample client agreement or contract, fee schedule, and a care plan and service plan with physician contact information.
